We want FormatterHQ to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use screen readers or magnification, or need high contrast.
Our goal
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- Text and interface colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios in both light and dark mode.
- Pages use semantic headings, landmarks and labelled form controls, and tools can be operated with a keyboard.
- Layouts adapt to small screens and browser zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Status messages from tools are announced to assistive technology.
- We respect your system’s dark-mode preference.
Known limitations
- Some visual tools (colour pickers, image editors, chart makers, diagram previews) rely on visual feedback that cannot be fully conveyed to screen readers, although their results can be copied as text.
- Code editors use keyboard shortcuts of their own; press Esc then Tab to move focus out of an editor.
- Third-party advertisements may not meet the same standard.
Feedback
