Convert SVG to JPG
JPG is the most widely accepted image format — every CMS, social network, office suite and printing service can handle it. This SVG to JPG converter renders a vector graphic at the size you want and saves it as a JPEG with the background colour and quality of your choice.
Background colour matters
JPG has no transparency. Areas that are transparent in your SVG are filled with the background colour, white by default. For a logo that will sit on a dark page, choose that page's colour so the edges blend in; otherwise light logos may disappear on a white background.
Quality and file size
JPG is a lossy format designed for photographs. For flat graphics with sharp edges, compression artefacts appear as faint halos around lines and text. Keep the quality at 90% or higher for logos and diagrams. If the target accepts PNG, the SVG to PNG converter gives sharper edges and keeps transparency — JPG is best reserved for places where it is the only option.
Resolution
Use the scale factor (up to 8×) or enter an exact width. Because the SVG is rendered at that size rather than enlarged afterwards, the result is sharp at any resolution. A 1200-pixel-wide JPG is a good choice for presentations and social posts; print usually needs 300 pixels per inch of printed size.
Limitations
External images and web fonts referenced by the SVG are not loaded during conversion. Convert text to outlines in your design tool first, or optimise the file with the SVG optimizer to remove unnecessary references. You can check the SVG before converting with the SVG viewer.
When JPG is the right choice
Pick JPG when an upload form rejects PNG and SVG, when the graphic will be combined with photos in a slideshow or video editor, or when file size matters more than perfect edges, for example large illustrations with gradients. For everything else, PNG or keeping the SVG usually gives better results.
Choosing the right width
| Destination | Suggested width |
|---|---|
| Social media post or link preview | 1200 px |
| Slide in a presentation | 1920 px for a full-width image |
| Email signature logo shown at 150 px | 300 px, so it stays sharp on high-density screens |
| Print, 4 inches wide at 300 ppi | 1200 px |
Why the JPG can look different from the SVG
- Fonts. Text set in a web font falls back to a system font, because the font file is not loaded during rendering.
- External styles. Rules in a separate stylesheet do not apply; only styles inside the SVG file are used.
currentColor. Icons that take their color from the surrounding text have no surrounding text here, so they usually render black. ReplacecurrentColorwith a real color before converting.
